Welcome to the 09-10 School Year! The year began on 8/20/09 with 196 students in grades KR-8, this includes 45 new students with 25 new families. Mrs. Andrea Puhl met with her faculty and staff on 8/17 and 8/18, and planned for an exciting new school year. Please watch the bulletin weekly for news on our fine school.

ST ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The St. Aloysius Catholic School Scholarship Fund needs you! It is easy! You can help sponsor a child who is a parishioner, who is in need, and who attends St. Aloysius Catholic School. Can you answer “Yes” to these two questions?

  1. Do you shop at Kroger for groceries, gas, or prescriptions?
  2. Do you want to help sponsor/educate a child in the Catholic Faith?

If you answered “yes,” then this program is for you! It costs you nothing! Kroger has made it easy to assist the scholarship fund by doing the following:  Go online and register your Kroger Plus Card to St. Aloysius School/Church #80423; go to www.Krogercommunityrewards.com and sign in as a new customer.  Select the Bowling Green store when prompted and enter a password, with an e-mail address.  An e mail will then be sent to you containing a link for your personal Kroger Plus number.  Follow the directions to attach it to St. Aloysius Catholic Church/School.  The more parishioners we are able to register, the higher the percentage of the total returned to us.  Once registered you may use your Kroger card each time you shop and a percentage of your purchase will benefit the St. Aloysius Scholarship Fund.  If you are currently using a Kroger Gift Card for the Scholarship Fund it should not be re-loaded.  For questions please call Shelly Leestma in the school office at 419-352-8614 or email her at stal_leestma@nwoca.org.

Please support the effort to have all families and parishioners register St. Aloysius as your charity with Kroger by using your Kroger Plus card. A percentage of the total group purchase will be returned to St. Aloysius Parish/School. A percentage of the total group purchaes will be returned to St. Aloysius Parish/School. The more we register, the higher the percentage we receive. Proceeds benefit the group of your choice; individual student tuition accounts, St. Aloysius School Scholarship Fund, Boy/Cub Scouts or the parish in general.

You may register two ways: online at www.krogercommunityrewards.com (see instructions below) or you may contact the school office at 419.352.8614 for a copy of a Scanbar paper to take to a Kroger cashier to register you.

Register as a new customer: Box to the right

**Select Store: enter zip code and select FIND: click/select on the Kroger store you use most
often. (it does not have to be the BG store only)

1.      Enter Password
2.      Enter email address twice:
3.      Write down somewhere: You will need it later.
4.      Confirm and Accept Terms

An email will be sent to the email address you provided with a link back to Kroger to activate
your account.

Once you receive the email (You will need your Kroger plus card):

1.      Click on the link in the email, or copy and paste the link in your browser.
2.      Login with password (this is where you need your paper that you wrote it down)
3.      You will see a screen that says “ACCOUNT DETAILS’
4.      Look for Kroger Community Rewards Box to the right: and click on Edit Information
5.      Enter plus card number and hit enter
6.      Review your address and make changes if necessary: Save
7.      Enter organization with # 80423 or a portion of ST. ALOYSIUS SCHOOL/CHURCH: Hit Search
8.      Our name will appear and click on it
9.      Then save: You will then see our name on your details page.
10.    Your receipt from Kroger should list us each time you use your plus card.

ST ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

The School Development Campaign is built around TEAMS – “Together Everyone Achieves More.” Currently we have five teams.  The Annual Fund Drive is most visible in the fall when making their appeal.  We have had three very successful drives raising over $110,000.  Pride and Beautification has made multiple updates to our school including the main entrance and the landscaping.  The Communications and Publications team has been busy spreading the good news of our school through the Lion’s Pride in the church bulletin and brochures for new families as well as advertising.  The Alumni team coordinated the first alumni event ever held and is working on a 50th year celebration.  Our newest team is brainstorming ideas on not only recruiting new students, but retaining the ones we have.
