S.A.Y.:  Beginning September 1st, S.A.Y. meets on Wednesday nights in Clare Hall from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.  Check out a Wednesday night.  You won’t be disappointed!

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS: Our spiritual lives are important.  We need priests to guide us in our spiritual lives. We must pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send us good men and women to enter into the Religious Life.  Could you schedule one hour on the second Sunday of the month to come to the chapel in Clare Hall to pray the beautiful prayers in regard to vocations?  We will be praying next on Sunday, September 12, at 1:00 PM. HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING: Bridge Home Health & Hospice, a non-profit organization providing home health care and hospice services, will offer training courses for prospective volunteers beginning on Wednesday, September 8, 2010.  The training will be held in the Wood County Hospital Rehabilitation Center second floor conference room, located at 1037 Conneaut Avenue, Bowling Green, and will take place for seven consecutive Wednesdays from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.  Volunteer opportunities are available for respite sitting, fundraising, friendly visits, care center, office work, and bereavement.  Volunteers are always free to choose their area and amount of involvement.  All are welcome to attend however registration is required.  Register today by calling Katie Stygles at 419-352-9808 or email kstygles@bvhealthsystem.org.

SCOUTING ROUNDUP MEETING: All Cub and Boy Scouts units in the Erie Shore Council will have a recruitment night on Thursday, September 9 at 7pm. We are asking boys and their parents to consider joining scouting here at St Aloysius Parish. Scouting has been a part of parish ministry to boys and young men for almost fifty years. The National Scouting Program combines outdoor activities, sports, academics and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship and respect. St Aloysius Scout Program adds a Catholic aspect to the program but welcomes all boys that are eligible to join. Please join us at our Roundup Meeting on September 9 in the St Aloysius Gym. Please come join us for the monthly KNIT TOGETHER. Anyone interested in knitting or crocheting is welcome to join us on the second Thursday of each month. We look forward to beginners, experts and everyone in between joining us in Clare Hall. Bring your needles & hooks, yarn and current projects. We have yarn to trade. We also have yarn available for those interested in making projects from St. Al's. Our next get together is scheduled for September 9 at 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you there.

WOMEN’S ECUMENICAL AUTUMN BREAKFAST:  The United Methodist Women of Trinity Church extend an invitation to the ladies of St. Aloysius Church to attend their annual Autumn Breakfast.  It will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 200 N. Summit St., Bowling Green, on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at 8:45 a.m.  Their purpose is to share a time of ecumenical fellowship in the Spirit of Christ.  There is no cost for the breakfast, however, reservations are needed by Tuesday, Sept. 7.  Please call the Trinity church office, 419-353-903 to let them know you are coming.

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a safe, healthy, effective way of planning your family without the use of medication, chemicals, or artificial devices.  To learn the method, a three-part class series is offered twice a year in Bowling Green.  It is taught by Dr. Jim and Linda Kettinger who are  certified by the Couple to Couple League.  The next class series will be held in Clare Hall at St. Aloysius on  September 12, October 10, and
November 7, 2010.  A spring class series will be held in 2011 on February 13, March 13, and April 10.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITY: Starting on September 14th and continuing into December, on all but the first Tuesday of the month, Fr. Mark will lead a Bible Study based on the Sunday readings.  Sept. 14 will focus on “How to Read the Bible,” giving us skills to use in our Bible Study.  All adults are welcome to join us for spiritual nourishment and Catholic formation on any Tuesday evening.

WSA Fall Sewing Week: September 18-24, 2010 in Vanceburg, KY.  WSA volunteers will join local homemakers and youth on community-focused sewing projects.  You will live in a rustic environment with other adult Catholic women at the Glenmary Farm.  Volunteers for this week should have workable sewing skills and the interest in sharing those skills with others on a group based sewing project.  Volunteers may be asked to bring their portable sewing machine, and to possibly contribute sewing supplies and fabric. Each week will offer plenty of time for fellowship, Mass attendance, group prayer, faith sharing, and cultural learning.

SPANISH LANGUAGE MINISTRY: Les invitamos a todos que hablan español a una reunión después de la misa bilingüe el 19 de septiembre a la 1:30 p.m. en Clare Hall.  Somos benditos tener en la parroquia un gran número de gente que habla español; queremos saber como les podemos servir.  Discutiremos como podemos mejorar la misa bilingüe – si hay interés en un estudio de la biblia en españnol – la celebración de Nuestra Sra. De Guadalupe en diciembre – cualquieres otras cosas que Uds. quieren examinar.

We invite all who speak Spanish to a meeting after the bilingual Mass on September 19th at 1:30 p.m. in Clare Hall.  We are blessed to have in our parish a large number of people who speak Spanish, we want to know how to serve you.  We will discuss how we can improve the bilingual Mass – if there is interest in a Bible study in Spanish – the celebration for Our Lady of Guadalupe in December – any other items you would like to discuss.

GOLDEN YEARS POTLUCK: The next Golden Years Potluck will be held in Clare Hall at 4:30 p.m. on September 19th.  If you are fifty or over please try to attend.  Questions?  Call Robin French or Maryann Winslow.  Coffee and table service will be provided.

MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND:  The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter will be held Oct. 22-24 at the Drury Inn, Findlay (Friday 8:00 p.m.-Sunday 4:00 p.m.).  The program is already 2/3 full.  Why not give your marriage a good Jiffy-Lube job?  Service your marriage as you do for your car/truck/boat.  Are you taking good care of your marriage which is your number one career?  Prove it by making a Marriage Encounter.  Cost is a $50.00 registration fee with a donation on the weekend.  Fr. Toledo Catholic Charismatic Conference: The Ministry to Catholic Charismatic Renewal 28th Annual Holy Toledo Conference will be held on October 22 and 23 at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, Ohio.  Bishop Blair will give the opening address.
